  • Why Josh Collier Started the Entrepreneurship Sucks Podcast with Kevin Jacobson

Entrepreneurship is sold as a highlight reel — private jets, laptop lifestyles, and passive income on autopilot. The reality? It often sucks. That’s exactly why Kevin Jacobson Jr. and I started the Entrepreneurship Sucks podcast.

Josh Collier and Kevin Jacobson on Telling the Truth Nobody Else Will

Every episode, we share the real side of building businesses — the missed payrolls, the clients that didn’t work out, the weeks where nothing goes right. Not because we want to be negative, but because every entrepreneur I know has felt alone in their struggles. If our show makes one person realize they’re not broken for finding this hard, it’s worth it.

About This Episode: In this debut episode of the Entrepreneurship Sucks Podcast, Josh Collier and Kevin Jacobson Jr. sit down with David Adam Kurz to share why they launched this show and what makes it different from every other business podcast. Josh Collier, an AI growth partner and fractional CRO, and Kevin Jacobson Jr. created Entrepreneurship Sucks to cut through the highlight-reel culture and share the real, unfiltered truth about building businesses.

Why Josh Collier Builds in Public

We talk openly about what’s happening at More Opportunity and Levrg AI. When a campaign underperforms, we break it down. When a new AI tool transforms our results, we share exactly how we implemented it. This transparency has built a community of founders who hold each other accountable and share wins and losses.

    Connecting Faith, Business, and Purpose

One of my 8 topic pillars is Faith and Purpose. Building a business without a deeper “why” leads to burnout. Kevin and I aren’t afraid to talk about what grounds us beyond revenue targets — and our audience consistently tells us those are some of the most impactful episodes.

If you’re an entrepreneur who’s tired of the fake guru energy and wants real conversations about what it actually takes, Entrepreneurship Sucks is the show. Find us on all major podcast platforms or follow @thejoshuacollier on YouTube, Instagram, and LinkedIn.

  • From Financial Services to AI Growth Partner — My Career Journey

People often ask how I went from financial services to building AI sales systems. The truth is, the path wasn’t as disconnected as it might seem — every step taught me something I use every day at More Opportunity.

    Learn to Sell by Serving

My early career was in financial services — a world where trust is everything. You’re asking someone to trust you with their life savings. There’s no shortcut for that. I learned that the best sales process isn’t really about selling at all — it’s about understanding what someone actually needs and building a relationship around that.

That experience shaped how I think about sales systems today. When we build AI follow-up sequences at More Opportunity, the goal isn’t to blast people with automated messages — it’s to create touchpoints that feel personal and relevant, even at scale.

    Build What You Can’t Find

By 2024, I was ready to build the thing I’d been looking for as a practitioner. More Opportunity was born out of a simple insight: most entrepreneurs are great at their craft but terrible at building repeatable systems for lead generation and follow-up. I combined my sales expertise with AI tools like ManyChat, GoHighLevel, and Charlie AI to create those systems.

Kevin Jacobson Jr. and I position ourselves as “salespeople who learned to build AI — not engineers who learned to sell.” That distinction matters. We understand the conversations that close deals because we’ve had thousands of them ourselves.

    Scale Through Partnership

Co-founding Levrg AI with Kevin was the natural next step. While More Opportunity delivers done-for-you growth systems, Levrg AI builds the SaaS tools that make it possible. Together, we’ve served 300+ clients and generated 61+ case studies documenting real results.

The financial services background wasn’t a detour — it was the foundation. Everything I learned about trust, relationships, and serving people informs how we build AI systems that feel human, not robotic.
